 TEMA 4. LOS REINOS CRISTIANOS DE LA PENÍNSULA  En este tema estudiaremos los reinos cristianos de la Península Ibérica durante el periodo de al-Ándalus, así como su progresiva expansión. 1. LOS REINOS CRISTIANOS Tras la invasión de los musulmanes en el 711 , estos conquistaron casi toda la Península Ibérica en pocos años. Sin embargo, algunos nobles visigodos (Visigoths) resistieron tras la Cordillera Cantábrica (Cantabrian Mountains) , y formaron los reinos de Asturias, León y Castilla. Por otro lado, en el 795 Carlomagno atravesó los Pirineos e invadió parte del noreste peninsular, creando una provincia carolingia llamada la Marca Hispánica (Spanish March) . Tras el debilitamiento del imperio carolingio, esta área se independizó y surgirían los reinos de Navarra, Aragón y los condados catalanes.
